Ricult is a US-based award-winning social enterprise founded by MIT alums that develop ML/Data/Financial-based digital solutions for the agricultural ecosystem, focusing on smallholder farmers in developing countries (currently operating in Pakistan and Thailand). Ricult is building world-class digital products for its users based on their needs and pain points. The current portfolio of products is already deployed among farmers and other leading stakeholders in the agriculture value chain. As Ricult grows, we need an Insights Manager who is an expert in finding users’ pain points by conducting the primary and secondary research. The position will report to the Head of Digital Financial Services. Requirements:
- Minimum two years of insights/research experience in agricultural finance.
- Experience in user research, market segmentation, or product discovery.
- Ability to travel to rural areas of the country
- Understanding of multiple Agriculture value-chain actors e.g. Processing Mills, Fertilizer, pesticides, Seed Suppliers, etc.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills: startup mentality (lean, flexible, fast).
- Ability to work flexible hours (with a global team, meetings can be during non-traditional work hours).
- Fluent, professional written and verbal English (work will be in English). Job Description:
• Conduct research to gather insights on different agricultural value-chains and model insights gained from the research into formats such as personas and value-chain mapping, to enhance organizational understanding of the users.
• Carry out market segmentation for different agricultural value chains to gather insights about the prospective users and suggest business strategies targeted towards users’ needs.
• Assess financial and non-financial needs of value-chain stakeholders, develop solutions to address those needs, and execute pilots by on-boarding partners.
• Analyze and report the progress and results of the pilot projects and suggest necessary changes for improvement.
• Study economic indicators, track changes in supply and demand of agricultural commodities, and identify current and future needs of the customers. Provides short- and long-term market forecasts and by directing market research and interpretation of market data.
• Influence present and future products by determining and evaluating current and future market trends.
• Manage ongoing projects of the department, maintain close coordination with the stakeholders, and ensure all deliverables are met within the timelines.
• Maintain a strong relationship with crop traders, village influencers, and opinion leaders to stay connected with the on-ground situation of the market.
